the story of November

November was a busy month – aren’t they all? I do sometimes wonder if I will ever accept that this stage of our lives seems to be lived at full pelt with very little time for stopping… Not that it is a bad thing necessarily as we fill the days with lots of lovely things alongside the humdrum. So the story of November in a word is busy. But you know what? It began at the beach with the calmest sea and a trip to my favourite beach hut backdrop for a photo shoot, I love it when my ‘studio’ looks like this!

Of course busy and lovely don’t always mean noteworthy and that is mostly the case this month. Aside from a day in London at the end of the month wreath making (you mayhem seen this on my Instagram stories) most of the month has been taken up with work and parenting.

However there are some lovely things of note this month…

I was sent a copy of the new book ‘House of Plants’ written by Rose and Caro of Ro Co whose copper himmeli kits I reviewed here last year. This book is a delight. From introduction onwards their writing style is so easy to read. The book includes information about caring for your houseplants with a particular focus on succulents, cacti and tropical plants alongside simple projects like how to make a basic macrame plant hanger or himmeli. The photography (by Erika Raxworthy) is beautiful, the book itself a real treat to dip into and one I would recommend to any lover of indoor gardening. If you would like a little more information, or indeed to purchase the book, you can find the it here.

And then there is this lovely little cup sent to me by Sophie Conran and her team. One of the 10 special edition cups I mentioned here as part Sophie’s 10th anniversary with Portmeirion. It’s the perfect size for elevenses, perhaps with a tiny meringue or three too.

One of the loveliest things I received this month was this beautiful dress from Baby Jungle Shop. Anna loves it and it is perfect for all seasons either on it’s own in summer or teamed with tights and knits for winter. This little web shop stocks some gorgeous children items and is well worth a look for those stocking fillers or maybe a new Christmas outfit for your little ones. I can imagine this dress will be a firm favourite for the months to come.

I have collaborated with Status Anxiety on Instagram before and was delighted when they offered to send me some items for my travel next year. One of which is this gorgeous passport wallet in a natural tan colour. I have other items in this finish of leather and it wears with use in a way I love. I’m looking forward to using it early next year!

And lastly but by no means least are these lovely items from Design Letters. As with most of the brands I mention here this month, we have worked together before and I genuinely love their products. The new range of anemones patterned dishes are a particular favourite of mine but then, how lovely are their numbered espresso cups Perfect for an advent countdown!

November was indeed a busy month and December is shaping up to be even more so!

Have a good one
