a chat with a shopkeeper | Wanderlust Wares

Today I would like to introduce you to Wendy, owner and curator of online store Wanderlust Wares who specialise in homewares and accessories. You may have heard the name before as Wanderlust Wares sponsored my collected saturday giveaway in August and today I have asked Wendy to share a little more about the brand…

Please introduce yourself…

I’m Wendy owner of Wanderlust Wares. I have been a Fashion buyer for the last 20 years, 13 of which were based in Sydney Australia. I am a mum to Arthur and have another on the way. We live in Devon and are really enjoying being back in the UK after all these years.

Tell us a little about Wanderlust Wares…

I loved Fashion Buying but it wasn’t conducive to having a family and my husband and I wanted a lifestyle change, so last year we moved from fast paced Sydney to beautiful Devon, also to be nearer family and friends. I have always loved homewares and textiles (I did a textile degree in weaving at Chelsea Art School after I left school) so I set up Wanderlust Wares in February this year!

What are your company beliefs and ethos?

The ethos behind Wanderlust Wares is that I, like many people love to travel and shop. But having kids its difficult and expensive to travel as much as we would like. So everything we sell is from different places from around the world, hopefully we can provide people with lovely things they wouldn’t normally find in the UK.

What can we expect to find in your store? Any exciting new things coming up soon?

We offer lots of highlight pieces for your home, for example cushions, candles, rugs, attractive storage etc. And also gift items like jewellery and skincare. As the season is changing I have some lovely soft furnishings coming in for Autumn, we have just launched some beautiful Kilim cushions from Turkey and I have some lovely throws coming from the US in the next couple of weeks. I am thinking warm and cosy but still keeping the look fresh and pretty which comes from having International brands.

Thank you to Wendy for sharing a little more with us. You will also find Uashmama paper bags (pronounced Wash Mama) available through Wanderlust Wares, Wendy very kindly sent me this pair and we both agree they are great for covering plant pots! I am sure there are a multitude of other uses for them and there are more bags in the range. I would definitely recommend a browse, you can find the links below…

  1. Such a great idea, it is true we don’t always get to travel to the places we would like! Thanks for the introduction Julia x
